As usual in the wake of the Motocross of Nations when the outdoor season is over the fastest off-road motorcycle racers begin to focus on their Supercross programmes and once more at the end of this month the best riders from across the discipline will travel to Paris Bercy for the greatest and most prestigious Supercross meeting organized in Europe.
Bercy can be classified as a legendary event and the upcoming 27th edition of this historic competition will promise another great weekend of sport, spectacle and fun. On the evenings of October 30th, 31st and November 1st the top American and French SX riders will flock to the famous 'Palais Omnisports of Paris Bercy' along with 35000 excited fans who contribute to the meeting's unique atmosphere and forged its renowned reputation.
Along with Johnny O'Mara, David Bailey, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Ward, Jeff Stanton or Jean Michel Bayle as some of the previous winners, 2008 victor James Stewart is a true legend of Supercross and will be back in a few weeks to defend his 'King of Bercy'title . James, who is the fastest SX rider on the planet, participated in the show last year and now, after a summer break free of motocross commitments, the reigning World Supercross champion will be the leader of the American contingent in Bercy. David Millsaps, Josh Hill, Justin Brayton and Tommy Hahn will be his team-mates in the traditional duel with the French collective.
Two reigning World Champions will lead the French team: Marvin Musquin (MX2) and Pierre Alexandre Renet (MX3). Musquin won his first career trophies and titles in Supercross and he will make his first appearance in France since he was crowned in Brazil. Runner-up of the 2006 incarnation Renet will enact his comeback in Bercy, while Gautier Paulin, Gregory Aranda and Benjamin Coisy who have a great potential in Supercross will complete Team France.
Bercy would not be complete without FMX riders and once more the show will strive to the 'max' with Matt Rebeaud, Mike Mason, Tom and Charles Pages putting on three separate exhibitions: whips, tricks, and later back-flips. Add the French SX Tour, an 85cc and a 125 junior race, the traditional Pom Pom girls, music and laser show to the overall occasion and you have the perfect program for a great evening!
The event starts at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday, at 3 pm on Sunday
